Race preparation

WEEK BEFORE THE RACE

  • Check your bike:
Check brakes, examine wheels for broken spokes, inflate tires, check gears all work, oil the chain & moving parts then take the bike out for a spin.

  • Pre-enter the event
This will help with administration on the day making everything run smoother

DAY BEFORE THE RACE

  • Check directions
  • Final check over the bike (link to completing an ‘M’ check here)

MORNING OF THE EVENT

  • Check the website to see if there is any last minute news about the event (road works, cancellation etc)

RACE DAY PACKING LIST

  • Helmet
  • Shoes
  • Gloves
  • Water bottles
  • Gels / food
  • Jersey, shorts, socks
  • Glasses
  • Money (entrance fee, coffee, snacks etc)
  • Cycling Ireland licence (or money for a day licence)
  • Map / sat nav / directions
  • Change of clothing
  • Towel
  • Spare tubes, pump, oil, multi-tool
  • Spare wheels
  • Suncream
  • Arm warmers
  • Leg warmers
  • Camera / video camera
  • Mobile phone
  • Wrist watch (to not miss the start)
  • Garmin or other bike computer
