Ulster XC team on podium at British XC series

Ulster riders headed over to Thickthorn, Norwich for Round 5 of the HSBC UK National Cross-country series over the weekend of 29/30 June 2019. There were 4 athletes riding for Cycling Ulster: Lee and Dean Harvey, Niamh McKiverigan and Darcey Harkness.

In the Junior Women’s race Niamh McKiverigan finished 5th which got her onto the podium finishing just ahead of her Ulster team mate Darcey Harkness. In the Junior Men’s race Lee Harvey finished 8th out of 16. In the Male Youth category Dean Harvey finished 19th out of 37 riders.

Other Ulster riders also seen success. Aine Doherty (VC Glendale) finished 4th out of 18 in the Female Juvenile category. In the Elite Men’s race Gareth McKee (Banbridge CC) got himself onto the podium when he finished 4th. Graham Boyd finished 13th in the same race. In the Male Juvenile category Travis Harkness (Carn Wheelers) finished 17th out of 33.
